Here are a few thoughts from today, before I go to bed. I have twittered some already …..here goes
• I think by now folks at LifeChurch know that I love putting people on the spot. I don’t do it to pick on people but I know it does something good to them. I will blog about it later.
• God laid a few things on my heart during worship this morning. New messages and next year stuff…..
• Speaking of Worship…. Liz & Jay are twins. They both lead worship at LifeChurch. Liz led the first service and Jay the second. Never seen a twin tag team of worship Leaders so passionate for God! You guys are awesome. Jay you were on fire man!! Love the way you quote Scriptures! Love the spontaneous worship time during both services!
• Today I saw several people who I haven’t seen in church for over a year return. Praise God!
• Watching little kids worship is inspirational! Some motivated ones on my right. Great stuff!!!
• Tana can make the bass guitar sing and talk at the same time. Awesome!
• I stuffed up the order of my sermon in the first service…funny I bet no one noticed!!! Hope not!
• Learnt a new rhyme. ‘God is good. All the time. All the day – God is Great something like that…..
• George shared his story this morning on what God has done in his life! So grateful to God for changed lives and newness in Christ!! God walks with us thru thick and thin.
• Today we concluded ‘The God Question Series’. We spent 2 months teaching this series.
• Mataio Sagala preached a fantastic Word. Powerful stuff!! See other blog this week.
• Q &A Evening – Wow! it was like a University – Bible College collision. I thought it was very stimulating!! Discussed stuff that I would probably won’t have the time to preach on Sunday mornings…..who knows…….. eg. Leviathan and Behemoth. Creation Vs Evolution, Stillborn and Abortions, Suicide……….

That’s about it…good night!…………………..

• One thing I have noticed in the last few Sunday at church is that there is a new or renewed passion to worship God. People are a lot more animated during worship. More shouting and singing are heard and also the lifting of hands and some dance movements from the row on my left.
• Laine challenged the church to make a decision to worship. ‘Choose to worship’. Crucial that we choose to worship God than just go with the flow kind of thing on Sunday morning.
• I really appreciate the work our musicians and singers do every Sunday morning. Let’s not forget the unsung heroes our ‘Tech team’ working behind the scenes to make sure we have a church service. Thanks guys!! You work makes it easier for me to do my small part. ‘We are in this thing together’
• I spoke in the first Service about ‘Jesus – Son of God – Son of Man’
• Last Sunday was like ‘throw in the deep ocean and swim’ kinda day for some.
o Mike Uini Preached his first Sermon in the morning Service
o John Fale also preached his first Sermon in the Evening
o Dereck Siitia led worship for the first time
o Sui Tapu MC’s for the first time
o Jordan also did the offering word for the first time
o Mabel sang a solo for the first time (on the spot – shot Mabel)
o Esther shared about her ‘divine moment’ sharing the Word of God in a Hindu Event
• I am sorry for making your lives miserable last week……..but I believe in you guys. Trust me ‘ greater things are yet to come!!!
• Sunday morning Mike Uini and I did a tag team preaching. It was Mikes first time preaching. Things didn’t go as planned (the tag team thingy) but Mike did an awesome job. He spoke about the Jesus the Son of God.
• Sunday Evening: A SWITCH service for the first time. John Fale spoke on ‘Hi 5 God’ – Awesome stuff.
• Church Boys rocked the place on Sunday!! These guys can rap!! Awesome to see such gift for the glory of God my favourite ‘Take you back to church’. I still can get that rap off my head!!!
• The highlight for me on Sunday was seeing young people in tears before God, surrendering their lives Jesus. Just Awesome to witness the power of God in people’s lives.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

I hope you like the new look. I decided to go for a clean look and this is P2 – microblogging. It gives fast access to back end from the front in a Twitter /Facebook look and feel. It may not mean anything much to you but its a whole lot easier and faster for me and I don’t have to go back end to input even tagging.

The other cool feature is being able to see the comments right below the post.

I will switch again if I see something fancier than P2 but for now I am a happy customer.



I must admit…….. I like Susan Boyle. Along with 78,000,000 million others, I have watched that video clip at least 20 times. I even got my kids to watch it with me.

Most people were cynical and took her for granted when she walked on stage (Simon – most guilty). The old saying ‘Never judge a book by its cover’ is so true. Everyone thought that she was too old and didn’t have what it takes to be on that show but she proved them all wrong.

A wake up call!! Never look down on people. Treat everyone with proper respect!

I can’t wait to get her new release ‘I dreamed a dream’ which is out this week (I think)! A perfect Christmas gift for families and friends this year.

It has been a crazy week. I have been involved in all sorts of meetings and stuff, I don’t wanna bore you with the details but it has been hectic lately with preparations and presentations.
The last three weeks we have been involved in 3 different funerals – families and firends. Today we buried one of our comrades, the last founding elder of our church Salatielu Sagala, who is also my wife’s uncle.
Tomorrow I will be at a mens breakfast, then call in to see our LifeChurch team – Sisters of Influence in action – serving the mums / ladies in Manurewa – giving our community a free pampering day. (They are going to be spoilt…I know that for a fact!) …..then off to do a lotu at a birthday in the afternoon and then speak at a Graduation Ceremony late afternoon. I am looking forward to this graduation. They asked me to speak on vision for young people / education.

I am also looking forward to doing tag team preaching this coming Sunday Morning with Mike Uini who is our Lifekids Director. It will be his first time preaching in our main service and I am excited to work with him and see him in action!

I think I am going to need a good dose of vitamin supplements tonight before i go to sleep.

By the way we are just about to get out of the house – go to the MOVIES, taking the family out!! I haven’t been to the movies for a while!! MJ here we come!!!………

Reflecting on John 15

Jesus says: “Without me you can do nothing.” This is a powerful statement. Here lies the secret of achieving and accomplishing Gods mission in us. It is totally reliance on Him. He doesn’t say, “Without me you can do a little.” Jesus says that without him we can do nothing.

“We must come to realise more and more how totally dependant we are: we can do nothing, know nothing, and have nothing. “Without me you can do nothing”, says Christ. Think about it! The sooner we realise how helpless we are without him the more we need Him.”

St. Patrick. (c. 387 – 493) a missionary who brought the Gospel to Ireland. He was known as “The Enlightener of Ireland.”prayed this prayer.

This man knew the secret of accomplishing his purpose and mission in life.

What an amazing day at LifeChurch today.

I was blown away with the presence of God in the worship services. Seriously there are times when you just don’t want it to end. This morning I felt the worship time was just too short!

Two most important times for any pastor on Sunday morning. One is seeing people passionately worshipping God and seeing people responding to God’s Word. I saw both on this morning.

Fetu Evile – what an awesome testimony – it received a standing ovation!  A story of Gods faithfulness and fulfilling of his promise “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. I saw from the front a few men crying while she was telling her story. Personally I was trying very hard to hold back the tears. I believe God is going to use this story to bring lots of people to know Him! Thanks Fetu for your courage and strength and for sharing your story with us!

We had representatives from the Randwick Park Residents Group attended church to thank LifeChurch for the work they do in the community. I thought that was nice and also very special. It’s great when people recognized what the church is doing because the need to be visible I am not just talking about building. We are privileged to be able to have a partnership with the community. Thanks for the morning tea!!!

The sermons over the last few weeks have been a little strange……I am not sure whether it’s a wise thing to blog about since our own church folks will be reading this………………………..let me think about it!!

Our band did an awesome job today. We are so blessed as a church to have such dedicated & passionate young team of worshippers who happens to know how to play an instrument and can hold a tune.

That cake stall: ummm…. Not so sure ……..It didn’t help my waistline!! My weakness…………cakes and sweet stuff!!  I was tempted beyond my strength!!  And I must confess I fell from Grace today!! It was a sweet fall!!!! Thanks SWITCH!

One of our Senior members Salatielu Sagala passed away and in the first service we had some time to reflect and have open sharing / tributes. It was nice. One word the best describes him ‘a servant’.

I spoke on the ‘Name of God’. What an honour to be able to speak on Gods behalf and speak of His name….- The Name that is above all names!! I don’t take it lightly!! I sensed a special unction this morning…….

I want to personally invite you to a meeting THIS WEEK with Pastor Dr. Ed Delph. Ed is not a stranger to the Church in this country. He was in New Zealand in the beginning of this year and we were privileged as ministers in Manukau to hear him in one of our Ministers Monthly Networks.

Ed has a unique perspective and understanding of what God is doing in the church today in reaching people for Christ through community involvements and the participation of government leaders, business leaders and church leaders in transforming community.
