A Crazy Weekend…
- 4 Days of Servolution. It has been much bigger than we anticipated. God is doing something incredible that is way beyond us.
- Servolution is not an annual event. It should be a way of life.
- Combined Service in the evening with other churches that were involved in Servolution! Church was packed with Red T shirts! Great Celebration!
- Plenty of food!
- It has been such a joy to watch our people serve with such a great spirit and attitude. I am a blessed pastor, to have a great team of volunteers. I know I say that all the time but I’m biased and I am telling the truth. You can’t do church with a bunch of selfish people!
- Totally challenged by Silo to take the Gospel to difficult places.
- I want to send every young person on the field to be a missionary
- I am raising a New Generation of Missionaries and Servolutionaries.
- Yesterday’s service was just AWESOME. I tried very hard to stay cool but God was stirring something in me. It’s scary when you have to walk your own talk and lead by example.
Servolution Day 1
6:30 am – Servolution Kick Off. At Otara Baptist Church praying. My prayer today is ‘God help me to represent you well in the community’!
10:00am The Red T shirts ar on the streets
Spent most of my morning talking to people at the Randwick Park Community! Awesome to make Connections and love hearing their stories – the good, the bad, and the ugly!! I said to our church that Servolution is about being the hands and the feet of Jesus in the community. This morning I discovered that we need to be the ears of Jesus as well. I gave away a few hugs, not sure whether Jesus hugged people back then but…….I want to be the arms of Jesus as well.
Ok better get back to work!!
Sunday Reflections
What a Sunday! Here are my wrap-up thoughts for the day
- The last Sunday before Servolution!! Everyone is pumped and ready to Servolute the Community! The people of Manukau City will see so many red t shirts on the streets!!
- Michael Tapu can dance!! NO-Shame Dude!! Awesome moves…………..I keep telling people CHURCH is the place to be on Sunday mornings!!
- A lady stormed into church to look for his son and daughter…….…I like it when the kids are in church and parents are looking for them!! (like Jesus when he was 12) Better in the House of God than in a P House or on the streets!
- Today we Baptized 20 people!! Great to see families getting baptized together! The swimming pool was perfect. One young lady was saved last Sunday and baptized today! Awesome!
- Church BBQ!
- Miracle of the 5000! Did everyone get a sausage and a chop?
- CELEBRATION SUNDAY!! Next Sunday after Servolution! Most of the servolution participating churches are coming together for a time of celebration, worship and fellowship. I love it when the BODY of Christ come together!
- Next Sunday Morning. We are going to be challenged by a Samoan Missionary who has been on the field for over 25 years with the people of India.
Can’t wait until next week!
Opportunities to be with people
I had the opportunity to speak at the 2 year celebration of the ‘Come-Home Safely’ Puataunofo Project! I spoke on Gods Purpose for our lives – Prov 19:21  Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lords Purpose that will prevail. Made some key connections with some key people and some very interesting conversations. I had a little discussion with a school principal on the theory of Evolution and Creation after I spoke about ‘Gods Creation’. I met a business man who is very passionate about his product and also young people. He told me after hearing my speech that ‘He has found his purpose in life. A politician who is seeking spiritual guidance, a musician who is struggling with church, a person with the same name, a young man trying to kick off a business project, a council officer who is trying to help young people off the streets, a ceo of a large organisation, a cousin and a cabinet minister who repeated most of things I said, in her speech especially about God. Nice!!
I spoke but my wife got the flowers, she was at home!! I don’t get it!!
Every connection you make is an opportunity to be salt and light!
Get Connected!
