Today I received news that Gary Lamb is stepping down from leading Revolution Church. It is sad for a young man with such great passion for God and for the Church of Jesus Christ to fall in sin.
I have been following Gary’s blog for some time and I have no doubt that God used him in a powerful way to start a church (4 years) where over a 1000 people have found faith in Jesus Christ for the first time.
As a pastor it breaks my heart to see another pastor in such a situation and being disqualified from the ministry and the call of God as a result of sin. Today I am more determined than ever to fall in love with Christ than to fall in sin with the devil.
Please continue to pray for your pastor. He is a ‘marked man’. He has a big bull’s eye behind his back and the devil loves to shoot fiery darts. (Eph 6).
If you are a church leader, do all you can to protect your pastor.
I am wrestling with these questions today:
-
- ‘Am I in a growing, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ?
- ‘Am I in a growing, loving, fun and authentic relationship with my wife’.
- ‘Am I in a growing, caring, genuine relationship with my leaders at LifeChurch’.
- ‘Am I leading LifeChurch with all integrity, humility, honesty, and love’.
- ‘Is there anything going on in my private life that, if it became public, would disqualify me from ministry”?

I knew Gary years ago when he was in Iowa. Gary treated the congregation treacherously and almost destroyed it. His ego was a problem then and I assure you it was probably a large part of the problem now. I am thankful that God removed him from ministry. I will pray for DeAnna as she is a true saint and I will also pray that Gary has learned from this.
